EKG Technicians assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of various cardiovascular problems. Areas of practice for cardiovascular technologists include invasive cardiology, vascular cardiology and echocardiography. An EKG technician is someone who works in the area of electrocardiography. EKG technicians have the education to provide electrocardiograms, EKGs, ultrasounds, and sonograms of a patients heart. An EKG is a medical test that records the heart's electrical impulse.
